Minutes of Intergroup Meeting

George O. called the meeting to order at 10:10 AM with the Serenity Prayer followed by introductions.

WAS YOUR MEETING REPRESENTED?

A quorum was not met with only six groups and Garry M. in attendance:
12, 23, 47, 76, 84, 268 and Gary M.

TRADITIONS:

Tradition Ten “Nicotine Anonymous has no Opinion on outside issues hence the Nicotine Anonymous name ought never be drawn into public controversy” was read from the publication “The Twelve Traditions of Nicotine Anonymous”.

SECRETARY REPORT:

Marty W. read the minutes of September 18, 2011. The minutes were corrected but will not be approved until the November Meeting 11/13/2011.

TREASURER REPORT:

There was no report this month.

REGISTRAR’S REPORT:

Rick W. reported there were no new meetings added. Meeting 270 was removed because of inability to meet rent requirements. Meeting 252 is being removed because they do not use the Nicotine Anonymous Program and have been out of touch for a long period of time. Meeting 254 does not have a secretary but their address is accurate.

 

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

HOSPITALS AND INSTITUTIONS

No report. Gary M. and George O. continue working with Kaiser.

COMMUNICATIONS

No report, no concerns.

LITERATURE

Mike S. was not able to attend because of a transportation issue. Mike S. would like to know if anyone can take his position on the Literature Committee. Marty W. does not have the room to store the literature boxes. He offered to handle literature distribution at meetings, re-ordering and banking provided someone can store, occasionally inventory as well as bring the literature to each of the meetings.

WORLD SERVICES

Gary M. indicated a Conference Registration form was on the World Services Web Site for the Albuquerque Meeting to be held at the end of April.

EVENTS

George O. reported the Picnic was very successful. Reserve a spot for the Marathon Meeting November 19, 2011. Contact Joseph at (562) 644-5225 or Gregory at (562) 896-2305. The Marathon Meeting will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church14722 Clark Avenue, Bellflower, Ca.

 A $125 deposit will be arranged to secure the space for the Marathon Meeting.

OLD BUSINESS

We are in need of volunteers for the following Intergroup Positions: Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. Those interested are encouraged to contact George O.

NEW BUSINESS

Southern California, LA will be sponsoring the World Services Conference to be held April 2013. We are in need of a theme name. We encourage all to send suggestions to Rick whose address is on the front of the directory.
