HOSPITALS AND INSTITUTIONS: We had a request for a panel at Health Right 360 and Halli called Mario and left a message trying to set something up but hasn’t heard back. Please contact Halli if you can be of service on a panel at this location. We still need someone to take over this role. Patty from the Silverlake meeting said she would go with Halli. We now have two people who can cover this. We just need to set a date.
COMMUNICATIONS: Communications are running smoothly. There are no concerns at this time.
LITERATURE: No report. Please contact Halli for orders prior to the meeting. HalliK@sbcglobal.net
WORLD SERVICES: Regarding World Services, I want to mention the Voices of Nicotine Recovery (VONR) marathon meeting is celebrating 12th years in existence. The online meetings have an important place in our fellowship. There are a lot of handicap people who attend these meetings. We have about 10 states with no face-to-face (FTF) meetings and some states with only one or two FTF meetings. I'm involved with VONR and have been for years. If anyone needs help navigating on the site, they can feel free to contact me and I can guide them. Gary (310) 755-5582
EVENTS: Please join us for the marathon meeting in Bellflower on Saturday, November 19 two days after the Great American Smokeout. Your story can be of great help to those who have recently quit using nicotine. (See flyer attached.) Carry The Message month in January is just around the corner. Please start a conversation in your meeting about this. (See flyer attached). A motion was made to give away $10 worth of pamphlets for Carry The Message day to any Intergroup Rep that shows up at the December SCINA meeting and we will raffle off five Nicotine Anonymous The Book on that day as well. The motion was carried.
NEW MEETINGS: Gary hasn’t had any calls for new meeting material but there was a new meeting that started in Palm Springs.
PUBLIC OUTREACH: SCINA opened an Instagram and You Tube account. We have eight followers on our Twitter account. We will have a flyer next month for Carry The Message Month in January. SCINA would also like to suggest your meeting start a Public Outreach commitment and tell us about it. John D. has produced a press release for the Marathon Meetings (attached). Please distribute to local media.
