SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA INTERGROUP OF NICOTINE ANONYMOUS (SCINA)
INTRODUCTIONS: George O. called the meeting to order at 10:13 am with the Serenity Prayer followed by introductions.
WAS YOUR MEETING REPRESENTED? Quorum was met with 7 members in attendance. The following meetings were represented: Long Beach 231, Silverlake 229, Laguna Beach 257, and Studio City 273.
TRADITIONS: Tradition #1, “Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends on Nicotine Anonymous unity.” was read.

*Additional $3,000 in the account is used to avoid $18/month bank fee that we do not touch.
A vote will be held 2/16/2020 to change our ByLaws to increase our prudent reserve to 6 months expenses and a flyer is included with details. Discussion was held regarding paying $400 deposit now and $600 deposit by 2/19/2020 for retreat. A motion was made and approved to send one check of $1,000 now to Joshua Tree Retreat location.
REGISTRAR REPORT: No changes were made to the Administration List. No meetings were added. Meeting 12, Long Beach, Phone Contact and Representative information updated. No Meetings were removed. All Meetings have USPS contact through their Secretary, their Representative, or email. No H&I Listings were added, updated or removed. 37 envelopes were addressed, and 90 Directories were printed.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:

LITERATURE: We need someone to take over the Literature position at SCINA. Please consult your Higher Power, and if interested, please contact George O. at (562) 310-0874 or come to one of our Intergroup meetings. The current balance in the literature account is $1,171.46.
WORLD SERVICES: Registration is now open for the Nicotine Anonymous 35th Annual World Services Conference to be held April 24-26, 2020 in Lancaster, PA. The theme for 2020 is “We Can See Clearly Now.” For more information and to register, go to https://nicotine-anonymous.org/ The third quarter board meeting will be held January 25th, and SCINA’s Angie B., active secretary, and Bill H., chair elect, will be in attendance via Zoom. EVENTS: We have a new Meeting of the Month event. See attached flyer. The February meeting of the month is the Bellflower #250 on Tuesday. If your meeting is interested in hosting an event, please work with us so we can help advertise the event.
SAVE THE DATE: The 21st Annual Joshua Tree Retreat will be held June 12-14, 2020 at the JTRC Ding Le Mei house. A flyer will be distributed soon.

PUBLIC OUTREACH: If anyone is willing to take on or share the Public Outreach position, please contact John D. at (818) 618-1501. We need more help with Intergroup outreach. It is important to have a representative at the Intergroup meetings to tell us how we can help. The point of contact is needed.
SHARE - Culver City is having an event on Saturday, January 25th and asked us to host a presentation. If anyone is interested in hosting, contact Moses at (310) 305-8878 or moises@shareselfhelp.org.

BY LAWS: A vote to change prudent cash reserve will be held 2/16/2020. Please attend the Intergroup meeting that day. See attached flyer. If you are unable to physically attend, we would appreciate your attendance on ZOOM. We will post details for the ZOOM mtg. on our website.
WEB OPERATIONS: Rick W. is willing to take on the Web Operations role with Angela helping. If anyone else is willing to help, please contact Rick W. at SCINAregistrar@gmail.com. We thank Brian K. for all the help he has given us over the years and continues to give us.
OLD BUSINESS: SCINA is looking into doing a SWOT analysis at our March meeting to see how we can update ourselves to do a better job for the Fellowship.
NEW BUSINESS: No new business.
BIRTHDAYS: JudiAh celebrated 18 years in January. Kendall has 3 years. Happy birthday!
SECRETARY REPORT: December and January Minutes were read and corrected. Motion was made to approve them as we did have a quorum.
