WORLD SERVICES:  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of longtime Nicotine Anonymous World Services (NAWS) Office Manager, Teresa I.  She is the one who fulfilled all of your book orders for the last decade.  Bill P., who is a former NAWS Chair and Treasurer, has been contracted by NAWS to assume Office Manager duties.  He lives near Teresa, so our address on Mockingbird Lane will not need to be changed.  Orders may be delayed as he gets set-up.

The 2020 Nicotine Anonymous World Service Conference will be held this coming weekend, April 25th and 26th by remote attendance ONLY.  The registration fee is $20.00.  NAWS has extended the deadline to register as a delegate until this Friday, April 24th.

Gary is attending as a delegate with VONR.  Bill and Angie, as members of the Board, do not need to take a delegate spot.  SCINA will have John D., Angela P., Jeff M., George O., and JudiAh D. as delegates, so there is one delegate position open.  If you would like the one slot please let us know right away so you can read the delegate package beforehand. There are two workshops planned:  one on a new Sponsorship booklet, and another on writing entries for the new “A Year of Miracles.”

EVENTS:  The meeting of the month is suspended until further notice.  Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Joshua Tree event, scheduled for June 12-14, 2020, will be cancelled.  The retreat center has informed us they do not have money to pay back the $1,000 deposit, so we are working to get a contract for 2021.  We thought of rescheduling to later in the year, but we already have the Picnic in September and Marathon Meetings in November, plus with fear of the virus coming back in the Fall, it may be best to cancel it this year, but we will play it by ear.
